Duke, the Hound Dog, has apparently made an important life decision: This tiny Orange Kitten is now his emotional support baby, and everyone else simply has to accept it.

The sweet dog is going viral after repeatedly carrying around a tiny Orange Kitten like a very determined dad who just discovered fatherhood 5 minutes ago.

The adorable clip from the TikTok account @mary.olsen261 shows Duke gently picking up the little kitten, carrying him over to his dog bed, and curling up around him protectively.

The caption perfectly explains the situation:

"Duke is determined this kitty will be his."

And honestly? That feels extremely accurate.

The video also shows Duke carefully walking around with the kitten in his mouth while remaining unbelievably gentle the entire time.

At Different Moments in the Clip:

• Duke proudly carries the kitten around.

• The kitten tolerates this with surprising patience.

• Duke curls protectively around him in bed.

• Everyone watching immediately starts crying laughing.

People in the Comments Were Absolutely Obsessed With Duke's Intense Emotional Attachment to the Tiny Orange Baby:

• "He's a single dad who works two jobs."

• "I will call him Squishy, and he shall be mine."

• "That cat's gonna be barking, mark my words."

• "Kitty loves his personal space. Duke also loves kitty's personal space."

• "His emotional support animal."

One especially funny comment pointed out:

"Doesn't appear that the kitten has any say in the matter..."

Which honestly feels true because Duke has fully committed to this relationship regardless of anybody else's input.

Other viewers noticed how affectionate the dog seemed while carrying the kitten.

• "He was cobbing her. He loves her."

• "You can't tell me that kitten isn't his."

Duke's mom later commented that:

"He doesn't leave the kitten alone for a second."

The clip above shows Duke hovering beside the kitten while his human mom holds him, constantly licking the tiny Orange Cat like an overprotective babysitter.

Honestly, the whole thing feels like Duke accidentally activated his parental instincts and now refuses to emotionally recover.

Many dogs naturally develop nurturing or protective behaviors around kittens and smaller animals, especially if they have gentle temperaments or strong social bonding instincts.

Dogs May:

• Carry kittens gently

• Sleep beside them

• Lick and groom them

• Follow them constantly

• Become protective around other animals or humans

Treat them like puppies or babies

Careful supervision is still important during introductions, especially with very young kittens.

But judging by Duke, this little Orange Kitten may have accidentally acquired the world's most emotionally invested Hound Dog nanny.
