Many dogs naturally develop nurturing or protective behaviors around kittens and smaller animals, especially if they have gentle temperaments or strong social bonding instincts.
Dogs May:
• Carry kittens gently
• Sleep beside them
• Lick and groom them
• Follow them constantly
• Become protective around other animals or humans
• Treat them like puppies or babies
Careful supervision is still important during introductions, especially with very young kittens.
But judging by Duke, this little Orange Kitten may have accidentally acquired the world's most emotionally invested Hound Dog nanny.
