Ozzy Osbourne Family Working to Bring 'Digital Ozzy' to Life
Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving the world without one of its heavy metal heroes. Now, his family is working to bring the late Black Sabbath vocalist back to life in the digital space.
Ozzy's widow, Sharon Osbourne, and son Jack Osbourne talked about their work on creating an interactive "Digital Ozzy" during a sit-down at the 2026 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company Hyperreal, they said, is working in collaboration with them on the avatar.
What Will 'Digital Ozzy' Bring?
Jack described the avatar as representing "the digital DNA of Ozzy Osbourne, voice, image and movement." So, they're pumping this up as a very Ozzy-like creation.
"It's kind of scary how it's really very accurate," Jack added during the talk. "He will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers. Technology has come such a long way to where it's almost drag and drop. You could shoot a template for a commercial... literally prompt what you want Digital Ozzy to do in that commercial and you just drop it in. It's that simple now."
Sharon added that the avatar will be totally interactive, too.
"You can ask Ozzy anything, and he will answer you in his own voice – and the answers will be what Ozzy would have said," Sharon said. "We're going to take it all around the world. People can talk to him and he will talk back."
Ozzy passed away just a few weeks after his final performance with Black Sabbath at the Back to the Beginning concert. His music certainly lives on.
