Jack White Announces Free Program to Support the Next Generation of Creators

If there's anybody who knows how to help budding musicians and creators, it's Jack White. Following White's success in The White Stripes, he went out on his own and launched a successful solo career, as well as his own record label, Third Man Records.

Plus, White is just eternally cool. There's something to be said for that.

Now, Third Man Records has announced an education series to help up-and-coming musicians and creators learn about album release campaigns, and it's totally free.

The program, called the Third Man Release Lab, is an online-only program that takes place in two parts on June 8 and 9.

Jack White to Help the Next Generation of Creators With Free Online Program

"Whether you're an artist, independent label, or simply interested in the mechanics of the music industry, this series offers something for everyone interested in how modern release campaigns take shape," Third Man says in a statement about the program.

The first course, set for June 8, will give insight into the history of Third Man's distribution and marketing strategies. Then, the second course, scheduled for June 9, will delve into the details of the marketing and promotional campaign behind White's 2024 solo album, No Name, which he initially released spontaneously and exclusively in his Third Man Records stores in Detroit, Nashville and London.

If you're interested, registration for the Third Man Release Lab is free and open to the public now. For information, head to the event's official website, and you can sign up there, too. I'm a musician and plan to attend, because the most frustrating thing is creating music that nobody hears because it isn't properly marketed. I think it's wonderful that White is doing this to help up-and-coming musicians and creators.

White is also set to embark on a lengthy U.S. tour in July. Find tour dates on his official website.
