Watch the Teaser Trailer for 'The Boys' Spin-Off 'Vought Rising'
Believe it or not, but Soldier Boy used to have dreams of being a bona fide hero. Two days after The Boys series finale, Prime Video has unleashed the official teaser trailer for Vought Rising. The highly anticipated prequel spin-off will showcase the diabolical beginnings of Vought, the nefarious organization behind Supes.
Here's a very brief (and vague) synopsis per Prime Video:
"Vought Rising marks the further expansion of the global franchise. Set in the 1950s, the prequel series explores the twisted origins of Vought International."
The show stars Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, Aya Cash as Clara Vought (known as Stormfront on The Boys), Mason Dye as Bombsight (who appeared in The Boys Season 5), Will Hochman as Torpedo, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith. Mark Pellegrino, Cecily Strong, Eric Johnson, and Annie Shapero will appear in recurring roles.
Paul Grellong serves as showrunner and executive producer, with The Boys creator Eric Kripke and Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg also on board as executive producers. Ackles and Cash are producers.
The teaser trailer comes almost one month after Prime Video canceled another The Boys spin-off, the college-set Gen V. Series stars Jaz Sinclair, London Thor, and Lizze Broadway appeared in The Boys' final season. At the point of filming, Kripke had plans for a third season for Gen V. He hopes to incorporate the characters into future franchise stories.
In addition to Vought Rising, The Boys: Mexico, a Spanish-language spin-off set after the events of The Boys finale, is in development, with Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna as executive producers.
