Deloris and Jerry Sleater
Deloris and Jerry Sleater of Kennewick celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary July 18 with an open house at the Kennewick Church of the Nazarene.
They were married July 29, 1950, in Kennewick. They moved from Walla Walla to the Mid-Columbia in 1962.
They owned and operated Rays Grocery from 1962-93. In 1997 Ray’s Grocery burned to the ground, but the ball of string survived. They also own J&D Rents in Richland.
Jerry has been with the Benton County Fire Department for 51 years. Deloris did volunteer work for the Red Cross.
They are members of Kennewick Baptist Church.
They have four children, Dee Yeager of Kennewick; Jerry Sleater Jr. of Kennewick; Linda Sleater of Kennewick and Patty Ann Vaught of Pasco.
They have six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
