KENNEWICK -- Judy and Monte Crippen of Kennewick celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 21 at Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop.
They were married June 21, 1964, in Seattle. They have lived in the Mid-Columbia for 40 years.
Judy worked as a registered nurse, a special education aide for the Kennewick School District, as program director for Mid-Columbia Girl Scouts and she was a membership secretary for Central United Protestant Church for 14 years before retiring in 2009.
She volunteered for the Girl Scouts, CUP Church and Fields of Grace gleaning program.
She is a member of the University of Washington Alumni, Mid-Columbia Girl Scouts and a quilting group in Leavenworth.
Monte served in the Army and then came to work at Hanford for Westinghouse in 1974. He retired in 2002.
He volunteered for the Girl Scouts and the Fields of Grace gleaning program.
He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Washington State Professional Engineers and the Association of the U.S. Army.
They are members of CUP Church.
They have three children, Deborah Baker Crippen of Kapaa, Hawaii, and Marvin Crippen and Sara Crippen, both of Seattle.
They have one grandchild.
