Freida and Jim Deines
Freida and Jim Deines of Kennewick celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary June 23 with a family picnic at the Grange Park in Kennewick.
They were married July 6, 1947, in Benton City.
Freida was a homemaker and active in the Kennewick Firefighters Auxiliary for 27 years.

Jim was a Kennewick firefighter retiring as chief in 1977.
They volunteer as ushers at First Lutheran Church of Kennewick where they are members and Jim also volunteers there doing maintenance.
They have three children, Michael Deines, Deborah Dee Coats and Lori Arel, all of Kennewick.
They have four grandchildren and four great-granchildren.
Lola and Gary Hanus
Lola and Gary Hanus of Kennewick celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by having their marriage blessed at St. Joseph's Chapel in Kennewick. Father Sedlacek officiated and their original best man, Bob Neland, again stood up for them. Following the blessing they attended a dinner at Cedar's Restaurant in Kennewick.
They met in Yakima in April 1961. Lola was a student at Wapato High School and Gary was a graduate of Marquette High School in Yakima.
Gary worked at Roza Bowling Alley and for Pinnell Inc. as a cash register technician from 1967 until retiring in 2003. He went back to Pinnell's and worked part time until 2006.
Lola worked at Snokist Cannery, then went to Charm Beauty School, where she obtained her license. She worked for several beauty shops and did hair in nursing homes, retirement centers and a funeral home. She started working for the state of Washington in 1976, working at the Department of Corrections and work release as a secretary before retiring in 1999.
They enjoy boating, fishing, camping, playing pool, dancing, golfing, barbecues, cards, dice games and visiting with family and friends.
They have two children, Pat Hanus and Kim Hanus.
They have one grandson.
