Midge and Cecil Stallcop of Kennewick celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 9, 2011, with a private party of family and friends.
They were married July 15, 1961, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. They grew up in Spokane and have lived in the Tri-Cities for 27 years.
Midge attended the nursing program at Columbia Basin College and graduated in 1974 as a registered nurse. She worked as a public health nurse, supervisor in public health, and home health nurse case manager retiring in 2009.
They enjoyed their summer home at Roosevelt Lake when their children were young and loved boating and fishing during the summers. They also enjoyed snow skiing. They owned a bed and breakfast for five years called Briar Rose while living in Wenatchee. They are Catholic.
Midge enjoys woodworking and painting and selling her items in bazaars. She also enjoys traveling which was a goal during their retirement.
Cecil was a mechanic and owned an auto repair shop in Kennewick for many years before working for Benton County parks department until 1990 when he finished out his career in Wenatchee at Cenex, retiring in 2002.
They have four children, Connie Mittelstaedt of Richland; David Stallcop of Kennewick; Julia Shreck, of Tacoma; and Shelly Stallcop of Yakima.
They have nine grandchildren.
