Helen and Samuel Lopez

Helen and Samuel Lopez, of Pasco, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at the Richland Hampton Inn, in the Columbia Pointe Ballroom, at 3 p.m. Sept. 3.

They were married Sept. 2, 1961, at the El Sereno Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles. They lived many years in Sunnyside and Yakima before moving to the Mid-Columbia in October 2009.

Helen worked in retail sales, retiring from JCPenney and Target in 2005. She also taught Sunday school and was a group leader in Missionettes.

Samuel owned and operated S & H Trucking, retiring in 2006. He has taught Sunday school and volunteered with the Royal Rangers.

They attend Faith Assembly Christian Center in Pasco.

They have five children, Sam Lopez Jr. of Manson; Tim Lopez of San Antonio; Marcy Trevino of Yakima; Sarah Chilson of Pasco; and Josie Campbell of Yakima.

They have 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
