Dick and June Jaquish, of Richland, were married June 12, 1960, in Cambridge, Mass. They celebrated with a open house at their son's home in Kennewick.
They met while June was working at a candy store in the Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.
June graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in home economics and received her master's degree in library science from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. She worked as a librarian for the Pasco Public School District, and worked for the Mid-Columbia Library system and the Bethlehem Lutheran School library. She retired in 1997 from the Pasco School District.
She volunteers at the Tri-City food bank and makes quilts for various auctions. She is an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, DAR and the Fun, Fit and Over Fifty Club.

Dick graduated from Washington State College with a civil engineering degree. He joined the military under the public health service and retired as a captain. He received his master's degree from Harvard University and worked for the EPA in Las Vegas, then moved his family to Richland where he worked for Battelle. He retired in 1995 from Battelle.
They have three children: Bill Jaquish of Kennewick; John Jaquish of Auburn; and Jim Jaquish of Shoreline, and six grandchildren.
