AJ and Jim Foster

AJ and Jim Foster were married June 12, 1960, in Spangle, Wash.

They will celebrate with a family dinner on June 13 at 4:30 p.m. at Tony Roma's and a cruise to Alaska in September.

AJ graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing in 1960. She has been a staff nurse for Deaconess Hospital, a public health nurse for Spokane County Health District and a school nurse for the Kennewick School District for 25 years. She received her bachelor's degree in sociology from Whitworth College in 1979. She retired from the Kennewick School District in 1998.

She is a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Benton Franklin School Retirees Assoc., the Badger Club and the Optimist Club of the Tri-Cities.

Jim served in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-68. He graduated with bachelor's degrees in education and math from Eastern Washington University in 1971. He received a master's degree in education from Washington State University in 1978. He was a math teacher at Stevens Middle School in Pasco for 28 years, retiring in 2000.

He is a member of the First United Methodist Church and serves on the board of trustees there, the Optimist Club of Tri-Cities and Benton Franklin School Retirees Assoc.

They have three children, Kim Sherman of Richland; Robin Duncan (Keith) of Kennewick; and Jim Foster (Cindi) of Richland. They have nine grandchildren.
