John and Joan B. Jurgilewicz Sr. of Pasco will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with a nuptial Mass on April 24 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with a reception and dinner to follow at Dillon Hall.
They were married April 23, 1960, at St. Jean the Baptiste Catholic Church in Manhattan, New York City.
They moved to the Tri-Cities from Riverside, Calif., in 1981.
Joan worked as a medical transcriptionist for various hospitals and doctors. She also operated Physicians' Medical Transcription from 1981-91.

John served in the Air Force from 1957-63, serving in Korea. He was a jet engine mechanic for F86, B47 and F100 aircraft stationed in Plattsburgh, N.Y.
He was a mechanical engineer at Hanford working as field engineer at N Reactor, K Basin, the vitrification project and the ground water remediation project.
John is involved in the Knights of Columbus. He and Joan are Eucharistic Ministers, and involved in Cursillo, Marriage Encounter, Retrouvaille and are jail ministry volunteers.
The couple's children are Daniel John Jurgilewicz of Pasco, Linda McCalmant of Kennewick, Marie Castillo of Richland, Chris Jurgilewicz of Kennewick, John Jurgilewicz Jr. of Yakima, Joanne Barone of Pasco and Veronica Whitish of Pasco. Another son, John Allan Jurgilewicz, is deceased.
They have 16 grandchildren.
