A juvenile died of apparent stab wounds suffered during a fight that broke out at a party early Saturday morning, according to the Sunnyside Police Department.
The fight was reported in the 1300 block of South 13th Street about 12:24 a.m., according to a police department news release, which did not provide the name or age of the male victim.
As police arrived at the scene, they learned that the victim had been brought to Sunnyside Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about a half hour later.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicates there was an altercation between the victim and others at the party and that the suspects sped away in a light colored Toyota or Honda passenger car.
The victim was brought to the hospital in another car that crashed in the 900 block of Arrowsmith Avenue after he was dropped off, police said.
“The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available for release at this time,” the news release said.
