Appellation: Columbia Valley
In three years, Russ and Stacie Hamilton will be able to use estate fruit Red Mountain for their Bona Vita. In the meantime, this blend of Malbec (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (26%), Merlot (13%) and Petit Verdot created by their winemaker/neighbor Charlie Hoppes is showing beautifully. Aromas of Bing cherry, blackberry, poached plum include toffee, cola nut and sarsaparilla. There’s a continuation of that dark fruit profile on the palate, leading with boysenberry jam, black currant and maple syrup flavors. Mild tannins are framed nicely with tangy acidity and a finish of cherry pie filling. Rated "Outstanding!" by Great Northwest Wine. (14.5 percent alcohol)

Food pairings: Spaghetti and meatballs, smoked meats, charcuterie plate or barbecued beef will pair deliciously with this sturdy red.
