A new exhibit at the Reach center in Richland will celebrate 50 years of hydroplane racing on the Columbia River.
Conover Insurance is sponsoring the exhibit, which opens June 26 and runs through July.
The Hydroplane & Raceboat Museum in Seattle is lending materials for the exhibit, which will include “an informative and photographic exposé that will chronicle the history of hydroplane racing in the Tri-Cities, along with action-packed video presentations of racing plus all the spills and thrills that go along with it,” a news release said.
“There is also an exciting collection of memorabilia such as driver suits and helmets, propellers, boat parts and much more,” the release said.
The Reach is at 1943 Columbia Park Trail.
