A walking tour of north Richland neighborhoods with homes in the mid-century modern style is planned by Richland Parks and Recreation starting at 10 a.m. May 2.
As Richland was incorporated in 1958, not only could people purchase the houses built by the government for Hanford workers, but they could buy land for homes to be built in any style, including mid-century modern.
The walking tour will be led by Teresa Knirck and Nancy Doran. There is no cost and no registration is required.
The tour will start at the Newcomer Street parking lot in Leslie Groves Park. It is expected to last about two hours and cover up to three miles.
