Mike Melia, Port of Kennewick maintenance technician, uses the forks on a boom lift Monday to peel away sheets of metal roofing from a hangar building at the former Vista Field Airport in Kennewick. Port officials say the hangar was constructed likely in the 50s or 60s and has no historic value. Some of the construction materials will be either recycled or salvaged for other projects. Melia said the structure should be dismantled by the end of the week.
