The annual tree lighting ceremony, sponsored by the Downtown Pasco Development Association, starts at 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at Peanuts Park in downtown Pasco.
The event also features activities for the whole family, live musical entertainment and a visit by Santa Claus. The 8-foot pine tree will be decked out in hundreds of lights, while choirs from Mark Twain Elementary School, under the direction of Kris Merkel, and Rowena Chess Elementary School, under the direction of Kelli Kruse, will sing Christmas carols. There also will be hot cocoa from Dutch Bros. Coffee and mini tamales from Fiesta Foods on hand.
