Vanis Daniels III, a 1985 Pasco High grad who now lives in Olympia, won the showcase prize worth $22,600 on the popular CBS game show The Price is Right.
Daniels won the the prize during an August taping of the show, which wasn’t televised until this week, said his cousin Nina Duckworth of Kennewick.
The winning showcase package included a sailboat, treasure chest of jewelry and a Caribbean cruise.
“Vanis won a karoake machine that got him on stage,” Duckworth said. “He lost the chance at a car while on stage, but got to spin the wheel for a chance to be in the showcase and he got an 85, which earned him a spot there. He bid his package was worth $22,000 and won it.”
Needless to say, his family was thrilled, she added. The Daniels-Cole family, many of whom still live in the Tri-Cities, were celebrating a family reunion in California at the time the show was being taped and a handful of them decided to go watch the show.
