Two Kennewick men were arrested Monday near Bend when Oregon State Patrol officers discovered four pounds of meth during a traffic stop.
Miranda Garcia, 31, and Palafox Cortes, 35, were arrested just after midnight Monday after the 1998 Nissan Maxima was stopped for a traffic violation. Garcia was driving.
A drug-detection dog helped OSP officers discover $40,000 in methamphetamine hidden in a speaker box in the car's truck. A small amount of cocaine also was found, OSP reported.
The two were booked into Deschutes County Jail and charged with manufacture, possesion and distribution of methamphetamine, as well as possession of cocaine.
