* Schrank, an honorable mention all-conference kicker last season, looks to be a leader. He'll start at both running back and linebacker in addition to his kicking duties once again.
* Mochel will go with six guys starting on both sides of the ball -- Janis, Schrank, Chris Godfrey, Viramontes, Hood and Powell.
* Keep an eye on Sept. 23 and 30. The Red Devils entertain Prosser, then visit Othello. It could be the key to their season.
Coach Mochel starts his second season at the helm in a better comfort zone. The kids know his system and he knows the personnel better.
And coming off of a 6-4 campaign means there's plenty of optimism.
The key will be getting new quarterback Jordan West time to get comfortable running the offense. The good news is that he has three returnees on the offensive line in Viramontes, Rodriguez and Alex Godfrey.
Defensively, Viramontes on the line and Schrank at linebacker will have to lead their respective units as the only returning starters. Janis and Godfrey give the secondary some starting experience.
