Carmike gives 'Avatar' parting 3D shot

Avatar has been out of theaters for awhile and has now been released on DVD.

Even in high-def Blu-Ray, turning the flick’s awesome three-dimensions to two seems criminal. Like most movies, it deserves to be seen on the biggest possible screen and as it was filmed — in 3-D.

Carmike has reopened Avatar and is giving you one last shot at a three-dimensional treat. If you put it off the first time, don’t miss your second — and last — chance.

Though the plot is a hole-filled cliche, writer/director James Cameron’s effects are stunning. The transitions between real life and CGI are seamless. You will really believe you are on a planet where the natives are 10-feet tall.
