Writer/director Fatih Akin connects the lives of six people in a complicated plot beginning with an old man hiring a prostitute and ending with long scene of a man sitting on a beach.
What seems like an innocent action here and there push characters that need to meet each other closer together.
Similar acts keep them apart.
Though deliberately telegraphing key plot points, much of the intrigue is found in the clever and often-ironic ways Akin solves complex problems.
