The Academy of Children’s Theatre in Richland is once again offering a special two-week theater performance camp for students on the autism spectrum.
Spectrum On Stage Summer Spectacular is for students age 6 and older. It runs weekday afternoons from July 11-22 at ACT, 213 Wellsian Way.
An informational meeting is at 2 p.m. July 6 at the theater.
The camp was designed under the direction of Julie Schroeder, a certified teacher of drama for autism, and it culminates in a final production.
Students are paired with a neuro-typical partner during the camp.
The program is paid for by a grant from the Charlotte Martin Foundation, and there’s s no charge to take part. However, space is limited.
