Hanford High School Drama productions nominated for nine awards

The Hanford High School production of Urinetown has received nine nominations in the 2016 Seattle 5th Avenue High School Musical Theater Awards, which is June 6 in Seattle.

Senior Zachary Harper earned a Special Honors Student Achievement award.

Urinetown has been nominated for outstanding overall musical, outstanding music direction, outstanding choreography, outstanding orchestra, outstanding lighting design, outstanding lead actor Devin Duggan, who will sing a solo at the ceremony, and outstanding ensemble group. It received an honorable mention for outstanding direction and outstanding lead actor in an ensemble role, Vance Alexander.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid has been nominated for outstanding hair and makeup design and outstanding stage crew. It received an honorable mention for outstanding ensemble group, The Sea.

The Hanford High School drama director is Matt Leggett.
