The acclaimed singer-songwriter and guitarist Kevn Kinney will perform June 3 at Brewminatti in Prosser.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Kinney is perhaps best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the Southern rock band Drivin’ N’ Cryin’, which has toured with acts such as R.E.M., Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Sonic Youth, Living Colour and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Kinney also has released seven solo albums and taken part in the indie supergroup The Golden Palominos.

Marty and Lenee Taylor, owners of Brewminatti, first saw Kinney perform in Santa Monica, Calif.

“He was touring for his first solo album, MacDougal’s Blues, which is still one of our favorites. He was joined on stage that night by Peter Buck. It was a really great show. As longtime fans of his honest and soulful songwriting, we’re delighted that he’s going to play for us,” Marty Taylor said in a news release.

Kinney “has this really, kind of high lonesome quality to his voice — it is just mesmerizing. You feel what he is singing about,” Taylor said.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of show. They’re available at www.therootscellar.com or at Brewminatti, 713 Sixth St.
