Lydia Pense & Cold Blood, formed in San Francisco, was signed in the late 1960s by rock impresario and promoter Bill Graham after an audition at the suggestion of Janis Joplin. Along with Tower of Power, the group helped shape a kind of funk/soul and R&B known as East Bay Grease.
The local band Lucky Stryke is opening the 21-and-older show.
