PASCO -- Jazz Unlimited, sponsored by the music department at Columbia Basin College, is April 11-12, 17-19 on the Pasco campus.
This competitive event features about 4,500 student musicians from around the Northwest, including middle, junior high and high school jazz bands, concert choirs, jazz choirs and high school concert bands.
Schools from Washington, Oregon and Idaho will compete for trophies. Competitions start at 8 a.m. each day with clinics offered with guest musicians as well as concerts.
There is no spectator fee for the competitions during the day, but tickets to the evening concert April 11 cost $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at Ted Brown Music off North Columbia Center Boulevard in Richland.

Here's the schedule:
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Concert band competition in the CBC theater and Gjerde Center on the Pasco campus
7:30 p.m.: Concert in the auditorium at Chiawana High School, on Argent Road in Pasco. Featured guest artist is Bruce Babad. Also performing will be the Columbia Basin Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Randy Hubbs, and the CBC Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Bryant Smith.
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Jazz band competition in the CBC theater and Gjerde Center. A jazz clinic featuring Bruce Babad starts at noon in the Gjerde Center.
7:30 p.m.: FreeForm jazz ensemble's CD release concert in the CBC theater. Admission is free.
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Concert band competition in the CBC theater and Gjerde Center.
7 p.m.: Concert choir finals concert in the Art Fuller Auditorium at Kennewick High School, 500 S. Dayton. Admission is free.
8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Jazz choir competitions in the CBC theater and Gjerde Center followed by a sing off from 3:50 to 5 p.m. in the Gjerde Center. Admission is free.
