The Sandhill Crane Festival is March 22-25 in Othello. Festivities include crane watching, bake sales, water bird lectures and a visit by the historic Abraham Lincoln railroad car.
A complete schedule of events is available at www.othellosandhillcranefestival.org. The railroad car will be open for tours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 24 at the Columbia Basin Railroad yard on North Broadway in Othello.
The private Pullman car, built in 1910, is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Visitors can take the free self-guided tour and see how traveling and entertaining were done via the railroad during the industrial age.
