The Port of Kennewick is seeking an artist, or team of artists, to create the fourth phase in a series of art elements as part of an improvement plan for Clover Island.
The project will be a traditional outdoor sculpture honoring the tribal culture of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Reservation, which used the area as a winter camp decades ago.
The budget is estimated at $85,000, which covers both bronze sculpture and metal reed fabrication. Proposals must include design, fabrication, taxes and shipping/transportation costs.
The design criteria also includes a minimum of two life size bronze figures illustrating the gather and use of native vegetation and metal reproduction of the vegetation itself.
The project is open to artists in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Deadline for proposals is Jan. 31. To obtain a project packet or for more information, contact the port at 509-531-0944 or email email@example.com.
