The 21st annual Cinco de Mayo celebration will kick off May 7 in downtown Pasco with a parade.
The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at Lewis Street and Second Avenue and snake around Pasco City Hall and back to the Pasco Farmers Market.
Gabriel Portugal will be the parade's grand marshal. Gloria Garcia, director of the Tri-Cities Cinco de Mayo Committee, said the committee wanted to recognize Portugal, who helped start the event and is a dedicated community advocate.
A show featuring dancing horses will begin next to the farmers market after the parade, Garcia said. The event will also feature live music performed by Latino bands, and food vendors and information from community service agencies and area nonprofits.
The celebration will continue until 7 p.m.
