Annual cowboy gathering set April 9-11

Stonewall Jackson, a Grand Ole Opry legend, is this year's headliner at the Columbia River Cowboy Gathering and Music Festival.

The event runs April 9-11 at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Kennewick.

Other featured cowboy crooners and poets include Jimmy Fortune of Statler Brothers' fame, poet Smoke Wade, Sage Keffer, and poets/musicians Sam Deleeuw and Sourdough Slim will be back by popular demand.

"We have an impressive lineup this year, especially with Stonewall Jackson and Jimmy Fortune performing for us," said Ed Dailey, an organizer of the Gathering.

Gates open at the fairgrounds at noon April 9 and at 9 a.m. April 10. Admission is $10 in advance or $20 at the gate. Tickets are at Ranch and Home on Columbia Center Boulevard in Kennewick. There's no charge to the church service on April 11, which starts at 8:30 a.m. on the main stage in building 2 at the fairgrounds.
