Seattle singer-songrwiter David Bazan will perform starting at 8 p.m. Jan. 21 at The Red Room, 711 Vineyard Drive, Kennewick.
Bazan originally was the front man for the indie rock band Pedro the Lion. He also is known for his powerful narratives, eye for detail and mournful voice that remind the Red Room's Davey Ingersoll of J.D. Salinger's Nine Stories or Flannery O'Connor's Wise Blood.
"Bazan is a gifted storyteller, weaving parables of spiritual conflict, suburban ennui and personal surrender into magnetic, well-crafted songs," Ingersoll said.
Paste Magazine also tagged Bazan as one of the 100 Best Living Songwriters.
