David Bazan performs his emotionally charged music starting at 8 p.m. Jan. 21 at The Red Room, 711 Vineyard Drive, Kennewick.
Bazan was originally the front man for Pedro the Lion rock band. He's also known for his narratives, eye for telling detail and mournful voice that have become more in common with J.D. Salinger's Nine Stories or Flannery O'Connor's Wise Blood, said Davey Ingersoll of the Red Room.
"Bazan is a gifted storyteller, weaving parables of spiritual conflict, suburban ennui and personal surrender into magnetic, well-crafted songs," Ingersoll said.
Paste Magazine also tagged Bazan as one of the 100 Best Living Songwriters.
