The Wizard of Oz comes to the Tri-Cities on Jan. 9 in the Windermere Theatre at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.
Tri-City music fans will get a special treat at this Broadway show because the Munchkins will be portrayed by a handful of tiny dancers from the Mid-Columbia Ballet Company.
The Wizard of Oz stage show celebrates the iconic 1939 film that starred Judy Garland as Dorothy and includes all the favorite characters from the classic movie. The Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion will be there, along with the Wicked Witch of the West, Glenda the Good Witch of the North and those adorable Munchkins.
Twelve children from the Mid-Columbia Ballet will perform Munchkin roles, including singing the classic song, Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead.
The children are Rachel Bauman, Willow Whitney, Sierra Montoya, Reagan Fulton, Bailey Peterson, Megan Koelzer, Emma Jade Branson, Bradley Streetman, Tanner Robinson, Tyson Robinson, Shawna DeLorenzo and Alyssa Russcher.
Tickets to the musical, which is part of the Toyota Center's Broadway series, cost $32 to $67, plus service charges if bought through www.ticketmaster.com. Buying tickets at the coliseum box office avoids service charges.
