Symphony accepting Young Artist applicants

The Mid-Columbia Symphony is accepting applications for its annual Young Artists Competition.

Applicants must live in the Mid-Columbia, which includes Benton, Franklin, Walla Walla, Adams, Grant, Columbia, Klickitat and Yakima counties in Washington and Umatilla and Morrow counties in Oregon.

Deadline to enter is Jan. 7. Categories of piano, strings and wind/brass/percussion will be judged in three divisions: ages 6-10; ages 11-13; and age 14 through high school.

To register, go to www.midcolumbiasymphony.org/education.htm and download an application. There is a $50 fee to register. Mail the application to: Mid-Columbia Symphony, 1177 Jadwin Ave., Richland, 99352.

Overall winners will perform with the symphony at its spring concert.
