Author returns for book signing

Former Tri-Citian Christy Leskovar gave up a successful engineering career for detective work after learning a shocking secret about her great-grandparents.

Leskovar, who left for college soon after graduating from Kennewick High in 1977, stumbled onto the secret after attending a family funeral more than a decade ago.

That's when she first heard a story about her great-grandmother being arrested after a fire in 1913 for murdering her great-grandfather.

"You can't ignore a story like that," she said.

So Leskovar embarked on a quest to find out the whole story. What she learned about her great-grandparents was even more shocking.

One Night In A Bad Inn is the title of the book she wrote that details her journey to uncover the truth behind her family's dark past.

She followed that book with Finding The Bad Inn: Discovering My Family's Hidden Past, which details the detective work it took to uncover the story.

Leskovar, who now lives in Las Vegas, will hold book signings in the Tri-Cities from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 20 at Barnes & Noble Booksellers at Columbia Center mall.

Then on Nov. 23 she will give a talk and sign books starting at 7 p.m. at the main branch of the Mid-Columbia Library on Union Street in Kennewick. She will return Dec. 16 for another book signing at Barnes & Noble.
