African children's choir to perform Nov. 7

A children's choir from Rwanda is coming to Pasco this weekend as part of an effort to raise money for the poorest of the poor in Africa.

The Asante Children's Choir is made up of children sponsored by the Africa Mission Alliance. The alliance was founded in 2007 by Amon Munyaneza, a refugee from a 1950 civil war in Rwanda.

The choir will perform at 6 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Pasco High School auditorium.

The group is a "family of individuals and organizations caring for orphans, widows and the needy in some of the poorest communities of Africa," said its online mission statement.
