Cage fight coming to Pasco

Mixed martial arts is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

And on Jan. 23, TRAC in Pasco will feature a Night Of Champions 2 event that will feature as much boxing, wrestling, kickboxing and jujitsu to satisfy any fight fan.

But don't think this will be one of those no-holds-barred kind of bloody battles, said the show's creator, Anthony Hamlett.

"This is an all-ages event. The sport has grown to have more rules to include weight classes and more watered-down rules that have attracted major sponsors on the national circuit," Hamlett said.

This is an amateur event that the fighters hope will help them make it to the big time.

"I have fighters who have fought for me who are now making a living as a pro fighter," he said.

Doors open to the Night of Champions 2 at 6 p.m. and the fights start at 7 p.m. The evening features 12 title fights, some of which will be the best MMA action around, Hamlett said.

There will be 14 fights total. Admission is $35 for reserved seats and $25 for general admission. Tickets are available at the door or call 360-888-6837.
