Miss Tri-Cities event planned for June 25

A Mediterranean Memories fundraiser to benefit the Miss Tri-Cities Scholarship Program starts at 7 p.m. June 25 at the Red Lion Hotel in Pasco, 2525 N. 20th Ave.

There will be guest appearances by the 2009 Miss Tri-Cities and Miss Tri-Cities Outstanding Teen contestants, as well as former Miss Tri-Cities titleholders Angela Felsted Larsen, Angela Kirkman Johnson and Charlotte Smith Shores who will perform selections from the musical, Mamma Mia.

Master of ceremonies will be this year's Tri-Citian of the Year, Ken Hohenburg, along with the current Miss Tri-Cities Kyna Harris and the current Miss Tri-Cities Outstanding Teen Cheyenne VanTine.

All proceeds go to the Miss Tri-Cities scholarship fund. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children 12 and younger. Tickets available at JD's Time Center, 105 W. Kennewick Ave., and Tri-City area Bookworm stores, 701 The Parkway, Suite A, Richland, or 201 N. Edison St., Suite 248, Kennewick.

Former Richland man to play classical guitar

Anton Sinkov, formerly of Richland, performs a classical guitar concert starting at 7:30 p.m. June 18 in the Battelle Auditorium, on Battelle Boulevard off George Washington Way in Richland.

Sinkov began playing guitar at age 6 while growing up in Moscow, Russia. He studied with well known Russian guitarist Vlasdislav Borisevich until the age of 14 when he emigrated to the United States where he tutored under the expertise of Brazilian guitarist Eduardo Meirinhos.

The June 18 concert features music by Rodrigo, Piazzolla, Duarte, Villa-Lobos, Tarrega and Vinas. Admission is $10 at the door.

Citywide yard sale planned in Benton City

BENTON CITY -- A citywide yard sale is June 13 in downtown Benton City. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with games for the kids along with yard sale item booths.

There also will be a pancake breakfast starting at 8 a.m. cost is $5 each or $15 for families. Lunch and snack items also will be available for sale.

Fairgrounds concert features symphony

WALLA WALLA -- The Walla Walla Symphony's Mares 'n' Music event starts at 3 p.m. June 14 in the expo arena at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids 18 and younger. Family tickets are $25. Tickets are at or call 509-529-8020.

Jordan Circus perform at in Pasco June 13-14

The Jordan Circus will give four performances June 13-14 at the TRAC in Pasco.

Showtimes are 3 and 7 p.m. both days. Admission is $16 for ages 13 and older, $14 for senior citizens and military personnel, and $12 for ages 3-12. Tickets at the TRAC box office.

The circus also will have two performances at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. June 15 at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds. Those tickets are available at the door.

Seahawks playerto perform in Chelan

CHELAN -- Seattle Seahawks' Craig Terrill performs songs from his debut album, CT, starting at 6 p.m. June 13 at the Riverwalk Park Pavilion in downtown Chelan.

There is no admission fee. Terrill is a defensive tackle with the Seahawks and has been a musician about as long as he's been an athlete. He was a member of the classic rock band The Strangers while he attended Purdue University.

WSU Tri-Cities seeks art exhibits for show

The Chancellor's Exhibition Series and Awards is seeking entries to its annual show, which takes place Aug. 31 through Dec. 18 at Washington State University Tri-Cities.

All forms of art medium are accepted from throughout the area. Deadline for submissions is Aug. 14. There is no entry fee.
