'Echoes of Ireland' production canceled

Echoes of Ireland, a stage show about the McCourt brothers' childhood in Ireland, has been canceled.

The show was scheduled to be performed at 7:30 p.m. June 5 at Southridge High School in Kennewick.

"For reason beyond our control the performance of Echoes of Ireland had to be cancelled," said Coral Andrews, with Proteus Productions. "We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to patrons who already purchased tickets for this event."

For those who already purchased tickets to the show, refunds are available where ever those tickets were purchased.

Though Andrews hoped the production might return to town in the future she was unable to confirm that.

"We are postponing the event and plan to reschedule for the fall or winter (either this year or next year), Andrews said. "That's about all I know right now."

Echoes of Ireland blends music and dance with the childhood antics of the McCourt brothers, Malachy and Frank, both of whom are award-winning writers.
