'McManus In Love' brings the laughter

If you loved Patrick McManus' first stage play, A Fine and Pleasant Misery, then you're gonna love McManus in Love, which comes to the Tri-Cities on April 18 at Chief Joseph Middle School in Richland.

Showtime is 8 p.m.

McManus in Love is a one-man comedy that features actor Tim Behrens portraying McManus as well as another hilariously funny character, Crazy Eddie, from the imagination of humorist McManus.

After the success of McManus' first play, he decided to write another one. Only this time the storyline is primarily from unpublished material written specifically for the stage.

It chronicles a time from McManus' younger days when fear of the unknown ruled. What happens ends up being a funny romp through a maze of self-torture, especially when he starts the dating game.

There's a line in the show that defines the McManus sense of humor, "Your first date will warp your personality forever!"

Behrens portrays McManus in one-man shows all over the U.S. and Canada. He acts out the roles of 15 McManus characters, including a bat, a bear, a bicycle, and an even stranger assortment of humans.

Admission is $17 for adults, $11 for ages 17 and younger. Tickets are available online at www.ticketswest.com or call 800-325-SEAT.
