Dance Class to present Winter Showcase Feb. 7

The Dance Class presents its annual Winter Showcase starting at 7 p.m. Feb. 7 in the auditorium at Chief Joseph Middle School in Richland.

Admission is $10. Tickets are available at The Dance Class, 417 Wright Ave., Richland or at the door.

Fort Walla Walla to hold planning meeting Feb. 7

The Fort Walla Walla Museum will hold a planning session at 2 p.m. Feb. 7 for its 2009 Living History series.

Pasco plans Spokane trip to see 'Ain't Misbehavin'

The Pasco Recreation Department is offering a trip to the Spokane Opera House in March for the opening of the musical Ain't Misbehavin'.

Deadline to register for the trip is Feb. 19. Cost is $104 for Pasco residents or $114 for nonresidents. Price includes ticket to the show, dinner and transportation. For more information, call 545-3456 or go to www.pasco-wa.gov.

Blue Mountain to hold annual sausage fest

The Blue Mountain Heritage Society will hold its annual Ground Hog Sausage Fest from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 7 in the youth building at the fairgrounds in Dayton.

Festivities include dinner and entertinament. Cost is $12.50 each or $35 for families.

Walla Walla Symphony features chamber music

An evening of chamber music including a string quartet and other small string groups from the Walla Walla Symphony starts at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the Walla Walla Country Club.

Concert featuring Knut Erik Jensen is canceled

The piano concert featuring Norwegian musician Knut Erik Jensen has been canceled.

Jensen was scheduled to perform Jan. 30 in the Tri-Cities but complications with his visa have prevented him from leaving Norway, organizers said.

Tickets now on sale for Mastersingers concert

Tickets are on sale for the Mid-Coumbia Mastersingers concerts titled A Time of Penitence. Cost is $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and college students. Students in grades K-12 are free. Tickets are available at all Tri-City area Bookworm stores, online at www.midcolumbiamastersingers.org.

The concerts will be held at 3 p.m. Feb. 15 at Shalom United Church of Christ, 505 McMurray Ave., Richland, and at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 at Parish of the Holy Spirit, 7409 W. Clearwater Ave., Kennewick.

Program includes music tied to Lent. Also featured will be a regional premiere of Seattle composer Sura Charlier titled Prayer for World Peace.

Foolish Fortune plays pre-Super Bowl party

Foolish Fortune band provides the music for the pre-Super Bowl party starting at 9 p.m. Jan. 31 at Jack-son's in Richland.

There is no cover charge.

Rawk-It break dance competition set Jan. 31

The Rawk-It break dance competition happens Jan. 31 at Ochoa Middle School, 1801 E. Sheppard St. in Pasco.

Doors open at noon with the dance battles starting at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free.

The event, sponsored by Daniel "King Reds" Rojas and the Sould Felons Crew, is meant to bring all ages and genders together to showcase their talents.
