Girl Scouts plan to take over Hermiston cinema

HERMISTON -- The Hermiston Cinema complex is holding a "Take Over: Night at the Movies" on Jan. 13.

For every ticket sold to see a movie that night, $1 will be donated to the Hermiston Girl Scouts. For a list of movies and showtimes, call 541-567-1556.

Andy Gross plans show in Hermiston on Sunday

HERMISTON -- Entertainer Andy Gross will perform a one-man show starting at 3 p.m. Jan. 11 in the Performing Arts Center at Hermiston High School.

The show is part of the Desert Arts Council 2008-09 season. Admission is by season ticket or individual tickets are $17.50 for adults and $7.50 for students up to age 18. For tickets, call 541-567-6151.

Gross calls his all-ages show Mind Boggling because it involves many different forms of entertainment, including comedy, magic, illusion, theater and ventriloquism. He lives in California and has performed all over the world.

Chelan's Fire and Ice Festival set Jan. 16-18

CHELAN -- The Fire and Ice Festival comes to downtown Chelan on Jan. 16-18 with of all sorts of winter fun planned. There will be ice skating, musical entertainment, a chili cookoff, kids' games, a keg toss, bonfire lighting and more during the three-day festival.
