Mr. Whitman fundraiser takes the stage Nov. 14

WALLA WALLA -- The Mr. Whitman talent pageant starts at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 in Cordiner Hall at Whitman College.

The male beauty contest is a fundraiser for children in Uganda who have been orphaned by the AIDS epidemic.

Eight seniors from the college will have to answer questions, compete in swimwear and formal wear contests and perform a talent of choice.

Members of the Whitman faculty will judge the event. Admission is $5 in advance or $8 at the door. Tickets are available by calling 509-527-5156.

Documentary to play Nov. 15 at Tamástslikt

PENDLETON -- The film The Exiles will be shown at 2 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Tamástslikt Cultural Institute near Pendleton.

The documentary follows the relocation of American Indian families during the 1950s in an attempt to urbanize their living conditions.

The film chronicles the lives of young men and women who were relocated from Southwestern reservations to the Bunker Hill district of Los Angeles.

Children's Hospital Guild holding bake sale Nov. 21

Three River's Children's Hospital Guild will hold its annual bake sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 21 at Hapo Credit Union Lobby, 601 Williams Blvd., Richland.

Aidan fundraiser on tap Nov. 16 at Tagaris Winery

An Evening for Aidan fundraiser starts at 4 p.m. Nov. 16 at Tagaris Winery on Tulip Lane in Richland.

The event features a five-course dinner, silent auction and musical entertainment.

Cost is $75 with proceeds to benefit the family of Aidan Zaugg, a 7-year-old who is battling a rare form of brain-stem cancer.

Brad Paisley tickets go on sale Nov. 15

YAKIMA -- Tickets go on sale Nov. 15 for the Brad Paisley show March 1 at the Yakima SunDome. Also appearing with Paisley are Dierks Bentley and Crystal Shawanda.

Jason Lee Elementary musical airing on TV

A performance of Pirates, a musical by students at Jason Lee Elementary School in Richland, will be aired on public access cable TV channels through Nov. 23.

It'll be on Richland channel 13 and Kennewick channel 12 at 10 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays, 7 p.m. Mondays and 5 p.m. Tuesdays.
