Camerata Musica season takes stage Sept. 27 in Richland

Camerata Musica is a small organization that brings a large number of high-caliber musicians to Tri-City music lovers.

The nonprofit organization opens its 40th season with a concert dedicated to its late founder, Lydia Woods.

The Florestan Trio will perform a mix of music by Mendelssohn and Dvorak starting at 8 p.m. Sept. 27 in the Battelle Auditorium in Richland.

The commemorative concert for Woods will be shared by another Camerata Musica group in Salem.

Woods started that organization as well after she moved to Salem several years ago. She died earlier this year.

Camerata Musica concerts always are free. All but one is held in the Battelle Auditorium. Showtimes are 8 p.m.

Here are the dates for the rest of the season:

-- Oct. 11: Baltimore Consort.

-- Oct. 25: Bella Musica Piano Quartet.

-- Nov. 22: 88 Squared -- the only concert that will be held at Central United Protestant Church in Richland.

-- Jan. 17: Richard Fuller and Maria Bader-Kubizek.

-- Feb. 28: Tenor Bradley Howard with Lee Thompson on piano.

-- March 28: Onyx Chamber Players.
