PENDLETON -- The famous Pendleton Round-Up kicks off Sept. 6 with a concert featuring Joe Nichols and Jason Michael Carroll.
Showtime is 7 p.m. in the Happy Canyon outdoor theater, next to the rodeo grounds. Tickets cost from $20-$110, depending on seat location, and can be purchased by calling 800-457-6336.
Following the Nichols concert, there will be a free dance at the Pendleton Convention Center starting at 10 p.m. The center is adjacent to the Happy Canyon theater.
The Pendleton rodeo runs Sept. 10-13 starting at 1:15 p.m. each day. Tickets cost $15 to $19.

There will be a parade starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 6 that makes its way from downtown Pendleton to the rodeo arena. The parade will feature the rodeo courts, horses, floats, marching bands, car clubs, local businesses and civic organizations riding, driving and marching from one end of town to another.
Happy Canyon nightly shows start at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 10-13. Tickets cost from $9 to $15 depending on seat location.
The colorful pageantry takes the audience through history the American frontier, beginning with early American Indian culture to pioneers who came west seeking a new life, and the clash between the two cultures and how it was resolved.
There also will be a cowboy show on Main Street in the downtown area starting at 6 p.m. Sept. 9-13. Admission is free.
