Journey, Cheap Trick, Heart tickets on sale

Tickets go on sale Aug. 15 for the Journey, Cheap Trick and Heart concert Sept. 22 in the Spokane Arena. Tickets cost $35 to $75 and are available at or call 800-325-SEAT.

Circus shows Aug. 15 at Columbia Center mall

The Carson & Barnes Circus plans two shows Aug. 15 under a big top tent at Columbia Center mall in Kennewick.

Show times are 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. The circus then moves to Yakima for Aug. 16-17.

Tickets start at $16 for adults and $8 for children at the circus box office starting about 9 a.m. on show day. Reserved and box seats also are available.

Reading Foundation benefit set Aug. 16

The Mid-Columbia Reading Foundation will hold a Books and Vines benefit from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Caon De Sol Winery in Benton City.

Some of the items up for bid at the fundraiser include a new Lexus, a beach weekend, an artistic portrait package, wine baskets, a Christmas lighting package, a catered boat party, golf outings and more.

Admission is $50. Tickets are available at Golf Universe in Kennewick or at the door.

Stephen Ashbook plays Aug. 16 in Waitsburg

WAITSBURG -- Stephen Ashbrook performs a concert at 9 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Whetstone Public House in Waitsburg.

Ashbrook, from Portland, earned the title of Best Acoustic Performer from the Phoenix Tribune and also performed at the White House during the Clinton administration.

Admission to the all-ages concert is $5.

The Whetstone Public House is at 110 Preston Ave.

Allied Arts workshop reception set Aug. 17

A reception for the student artists who took part in the Allied Arts summer workshops is from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Richland gallery, 89 Lee Blvd.

The student artists range in age from 7 to 15, and the selection of art will include drawings, acrylic paintings, clay works, beading, sculpture, collage, Celtic art and jewelry made from paper.

Admission is free. The works remain on exhibit through Aug. 22.

Classic car show set Aug. 17 in Waitsburg

A "One of a Kind" classic car show is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 17 at Preston Park in Waitsburg.

Prosser Memorial selling fundraiser tickets

PROSSER -- Tickets are now on sale for the annual Prosser Memorial fundraiser planned Sept. 6 at the Yellow Rose Nursery at Vintner's Village off Merlot Drive in Prosser.

The Ben Macy Trio provides the musical entertainment for the event, which includes a king crab and prime rib dinner, silent auction and wine tasting.
