Bite of Seattle on July 18-20

Admission to Bite of Seattle is free but take plenty of cash or plastic. With more than 50 Seattle-area restaurants and 30 food product companies participating, there will be plenty foods and beverages to tempt your taste buds.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 18-19 and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 20 and is held at Seattle Center.

A wine garden will feature vintages from nearly a dozen Washington wineries all three days. Admission into the garden is free, but two samples and a souvenir glass will cost $6.50. Additional samples will be $2 each.

One pavilion, The Alley, featuring Seattle chef and restaurateur Tom Douglas, will cost $10 per person. Admission includes a multicourse meal of tastes from several Seattle restaurants. The hours are different from the other festival events: from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 18-19 and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 20.

Kirkland Uncorked on July 18-20

This festival runs July 18-20 and takes place on the shores of Lake Washington at Kirkland's Marina Park and in the downtown area of the city.

The downtown events - including the art, boat, dog and car shows - are free. Hours for these events are from 2 to 9 p.m. July 18, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 19 and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 20.

The activities in the Tasting and Lifestyle Garden at Marina Park are limited to those 21 and older. You'll have the opportunity to sample foods from some of the Pacific Northwest's finest restaurants and purchase pairing plates to enjoy in the beer and wine garden.

At 5 p.m. July 19, things heat up as three of the city's top chefs compete head-to-head in a grill-off.

Admission to the Kirkland Uncorked Tasting and Lifestyle Garden is $25 per person at the door. Admission includes a souvenir tasting glass and 10 tasting tokens.

There also will be a live jazz band.

Hours for the events at Marina Park are from 5 to 9 p.m. July 18, from 1 to 9 p.m. July 19 and from 1 to 6 p.m. July 20.
