'Anything Goes' takes the outdoor stage

Anything Goes will be Walla Walla Community College's summer outdoor production.

Anything Goes, which opens July 10, is a farce that takes place on an ocean liner bound for London from New York. The show’s music and lyrics are some of Cole Porter's best.

The show is based on a book written by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse.

By the time this 1930s musical was brought to the stage, it had gone through a flurry of titles, such as Crazy Week and Hard to Get, before the writers settled on Anything Goes.

The production left American theater lovers with a string of memorable tunes, such as Anything Goes, You're the Top, I Get a Kick Out of You and It's Delovely, which continue to entertain into the 21st century.
